It is an old Iranian tradition to spend the first day of April (13th of the first month of new year) outdoor. During this day GFI members distributed more than 2000 waste bags and trained people how to be friendly to the nature. |

The Gathering of Little fish |

According to an ancient tradition every year Iranians set a table called Haft Sin at the turn of the year on March 23. One of the things on this table is a number of small rouge fish. GFI estimates that every year around 20 million fish die in the small home containers. To prevent from this we invite people to free their fish in the pool of mosques, parks or natural lakes. |

Around 10000 red and blue cards were printed and distributed to warn against the over-consumption of drinking water. The interested individuals gave a red card to a careless consumer and a blue card to a careful one. |

The Inaugural Ceremony for the Garbage Separation Training Project

During this project a face-to-face training was performed for around 20000 residents of the Area 7 of Tehran on how to separate their garbage in different sacks for the Garbage Recycling Company to pick them up. |

GFI organized a vast clean-up operation of the Caspian Beach in 33 points along the shore from Astara to Bandar Turkmen. A large number of local residents and also many local and national authorities and institues took part in the operation .Federico Mayor (the last president of UNESCO) addressed the inaugural ceremony with a message.
