Consumption pattern changing :

 

The human's increasing disproportionate and rash consumption has seriously threatened the valuable and irreparable resources of our green land. The study of adverse effects of non-endurable development has shown that trend towards consumption in today's world is the product of outlooks and economic patterns which evaluate their success in unlimited exploitation of resources and in earning profit and wealth as much as possible. In this sense, the prevailing economic logic requires that diversification of cultures should disappear and all should move towards globalization and follow the some pattern. In the meantime, consumption is introduced as the symbol of progress and social norm. 

Unfortunately the trend towards consumption has already inflicted irreparable damages upon natural resources and has had regrettable results for human societies. Therefore, if this destructive process is not controlled rapidly, we will witness severe damages, which may result only in destruction and doom for people of the world. For now and the future presently our country (IRAN) also has not been immune from the trend towards consumption and unfortunately we have witnessed regrettable instance of excess and waste of natural resource in various fields such as water, energy, food...

This is while in our religious and national culture, there are many recommendations regarding economization and prohibition of excessive use and waste. Also from economic perspective, we are in a situation where economization and optimization of resources are strong foundations for national economy....

The Green Front of Iran as an environmental, popular and independent force believes that the era of an economy, which is based on mere profiteering, and wealth gathering has ended. Now it is time to define economic development in terms of better and more endurable use of resources and their just distribution as well as observance of principle of economization. 

The Green Front of Iran hopes to move towards revival and promotion of proper culture of consumption and economization which for centuries, has recommended in our culture and religious/social norms introducing new endurable patterns of consumption and making efforts to change non-endurable patterns by replacing them with endurable patterns. This must be done in order to preserve the God-given resources for the use of future generations and children of this country. Obviously, realization of this objective needs intelligent use of technology in exploitation of resources, feeling of responsibility by authorities, participation and presence of all sectors of people, cooperation of the media, programming and presenting suitable modals in all areas and at different levels from micro to macro. The Green Front of Iran has set up a committee called " study and change of consumption model" in order to take steps towards and through environmental information, public awareness and attracting people's participation.
