•  What is the meaning of GFI?

The Green represent life and living in the earth

The Front is the movement, which includes all of the people in the society

Iran shows the origin of this organization

In fact GFI is NGO, which has been founded by some interested people for keeping environment that they endeavor voluntarily and nonprofitably.

 

•  What is the meaning of Green Peace?

Green Peace that follows GFI represents the reconciliation of human with nature, which is our goal.

 

•  Who are the founders of GFI?

4 medicine students founded GFI: Dr. Jamal Moeeni, Dr. Reza Ghassemi, Dr. Mehran Khajavi and Dr. Siyamak Moattari.

 

•  What is the date of foundation and receiving authorization?

The foundation dated Oct. 7, 1989 and receiving authorization dated Nov. 25, 1994 .

 

•  Where has been issued the GFI authorization from?

The permission of its activity has been issued by the supervising of the third political administration of the Ministry of the Interior from general administration of NAJA information.

 

•  What is the main strategy of GFI?

Informing environmental matters to people and authorities.

 

•  How can GFI provide its finance?

The money is provided by annual tuition of members, selling produced goods like hat, T-shirt, hand made card postal, medal, Green markets, executing musical concert, executing theater in the favor of GFI, collecting financial aids from interested people, performing search projects, performing training programs, performing meetings and training centers.

•  Does GF one of the branches of International Green Front?

(International Green Front organization of environmental adherent and the center of this organization is located in Amsterdam , Netherlands and it has branches in 26 countries, apparently) GFI is completely independent and it is not the branch of any foreign group. It has been founded in Iran and it is growing up in Iran . It recognized that there is no need to join to International Green Peace now.

 

•  Why we do not use European ways for complaining environment (Like fastening yourself by chains to prevent cutting trees)?

There is no reason that the ways of other countries be effective in our country. We try to say our subjects and approaches through legal mechanism.

 

•  Have you ever protested to environmental pollution?

Yes, many cases like: Pollution of civic (urban) environments or other cases we have taken positive reaction. For example, hospital rubbish of one of the clinics of Oromiye County off loaded in urban environment that the problem has been solved by our following up or the pollution of establishing one of the greatest hospitals in Tehran has been solved and its record is in GFI office.

 

•  How does GFI react with industries and environmental pollutant places?

We try to reflect happened cases like environmental, Municipality and etc and we try to solve pollution with its following up.

 

•  Why don't you complain to court for solving the pollution?

We are not and we don't have any permission to complain directly and legally but we can follow up via responsible and related organizations.

 

•  Do you publish any publication?

We publish a publication under the name of Green Peace as GFI organization, seasonally.

 

•  Who are your publication addressers?

All of the people can be a member of GFI. So, it provides the publication for all of the people.

•  Why don't you publish it monthly?

Our financial is just for publishing seasonally now. We hope in near future it changes to monthly publication by God Willing.

 

•  Why don't you advertise in TV?

If we want to advertise in TV we have to pay much money and now we cannot afford to do that.

 

•  How does GFI manage?

The manager tries to use cooperating management and the movement of this organization forms under collective and suggestive programming.

 

•  What are the terms of being membership?

We don't have any special terms (except believing Islamic Republic of Iran , lack of immorality, believing on one of the formal religions) every one can be a member without considering to age, sex and educational level.

 

•  Does GFI have any branch?

Yes, Golestan, Kermanshah , & Hamadan .

 

•  How can you contact with your members?

We contact with them through sending that usually send them monthly and also through monthly meeting and visiting members in various programs of GFI.

 

•  How does the GFI programs perform or design?

The programs and votes are collected by suggestions and then they are selected and it performs with cooperation of interested members and related organizations.

 

•  How does your relationship with governmental organization like environmental one?

We have described the reciprocal and sincere cooperation, we try to cooperate and think with other organizations while, we criticize the function of some of them. We make a good relationship with most of governmental organizations in all.

•  Have you ever accepted any foreign assistant?

We have never accepted any foreign assistant.

 

Yes. GFI was in the drafting committee of the third development program of Iran , and it is also invited as the representative of NGO section in the drafting committee of the fourth development program. Also the representative of GFI is a member of National Sustainable Development Committee of Iran.

 

 

•  If a member has not enough time to active in the programs, how do you work with him/her?

There is no reason for all members to attend in practical and executive activities frequently. We expect that GFI members, who live in their area, work on training and promoting the environmental culture.

 

•  How many members do you have?

More than 5000 all around Iran .

 

•  Why don't you issue membership card for members?

We know that one of the needs of group or club members is having the card, which represents the members' interesting and belonging but unfortunately, because of bad card using it may damage the name of GFI. On the other hand, GFI takes members easily so, if there is one percent probability of problem happening, in fact it may damage the prestige of the organization (that it claims it has rumor) and 99 percent of other members. For adjusting card problem, if members want to visit a place, GFI gives and issue them the letter of introduction to cooperate with them and when the form of members' membership arrives at the organization, the letter under the name of membership acceptance and duty details send to them that to some extent solve the inexistence of the card.

 

YES-We are registered by the Interior Ministry of Islamic Republic of IRAN .

 

YES- Green Front of Iran participates as a major group representative in different international events e.g. WSSD and WSIS.
